ELECTRIC BRAKE CONTROLLERS (EBC)
No matter what type of trailer you are towing if the GTM is over .75t it requires a braking system installed. We supply and install a range of Electric Brake Controllers depending on your requirements.
TRAILER PLUG AND ANDERESON PLUG
There are many different shapes and sizes when it comes to trailer plugs. The Minimum you will require when towing is a 7pin trailer plug and the most common is a 7 pin flat trailer plug. The reason you require a 7pin as minimum is it contains the wires to control the lights at the rear of the trailer. Another option is the 12 pin trailer plug with contains the 7 pins for the trailer lights but incudes an extra 5 heavy duty pins which are generally used to power your fridge, ESC, Break away and sense wire (depending on options and manufacture).
If you are wanting to charge batteries or operate a boat winch we can install an Anderson Plug.
REAR VIEW CAMERA
Having a rear view camera system installed in your vehicle is a great option to assist in aligning your tow hitch. Adding another camera to the rear of your caravan for when towing can assist in parking of the van in tight spots or see behind when merging in traffic.
There are 3 options when it comes to the monitors for rear/reverse cameras, these are:
- Integrated into your vehicles entertainment system (available on certain makes only)
- Rear view mirror monitor
- Windscreen mounted monitor
