There may be a number of reasons why your car air conditioning system is not performing as well as it once was. The most common reason is due to the system being low on gas however, the air conditioning system is a sealed system and if it is requiring a re-gas it is important to test for a leak in the system. Due to automotive air conditioning systems having many components both inside and outside of the vehicle, it can be difficult to pinpoint the location of a small leak. We will be able to identify the location of the leak using various methods including the ultra violet dye method and provide a recommendation for repair to ensure the system is sealed in accordance with Australian Standards. Air conditioning re-gas or ‘topping up’ with a known leak in the system is not allowed under the Australian codes of Practice for Refrigerant Handling.
